This is a picture I took (with my Palm Pilot - not exactly hi-res) from a peak above Mas Alto Lake, which is in a little side cirque above Rito Alto Lake in Colorado's Sangre de Cristo Mountains in September of 2004 while on a hike with my brother Ed. This is looking down into the San Isabel Creek drainage and out in to the San Luis Valley. Too fine.

From about the same place - looking north. That's Mas Alto Lake to the left - at about 12,700' it is one of the more stark and forbidding little lakes you'll find in the Sangres.

This is a picture of Rito Alto Lake, where we were camped, taken on the way down from the peak the two above were taken from. A truly gorgeous place to hang out and recharge.
