A bunch of my brothers and sisters in music in the Taos area have been working hard (in their incredible generosity) to put together another benefit event in my second musical home of Taos, New Mexico. The proceeds will go towards helping Teri and I with medical expenses. Many thanks go to all those working on this, to all who have helped us so much in so many ways and to all those who continue to send us prayers and healing energy. I can feel it! And it's working! This should be quite a party - it sounds like way too much fun - such an incredible wealth of talent will be there. It's all happening in the Sagebrush Convention Center (on the south end of Taos, behind the Comfort Suites part of the Sagebrush) and will be starting about 2 pm and going until around 10. One of the real treats for me is that the acts are each going to work up and perform one or two of my tunes, as well as playing some of their usual repertoire. This is an incredible and exciting honor for me, and I will be thrilled to hear these "song-children" of mine coming through the expression of these wonderful artists. The event is going to be recorded, and there is even talk of putting out a CD of my tunes as played by these performers. It's all quite a mind-blower for me, but it sounds like a great party anyway! Teri and I will be there, and we sure invite anyone that can make it to come by and enjoy as much of the day as you can. Louise Blair at the Sagebrush, besides offering the Convention Center for the party, is also offering reduced rates on rooms for those folks coming from out of town - $59.00 for the nights of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th.
